why I pak toh?

I fell in love with my girl best friend. Now she means everything to me.

I have to confess, I did fall in love. And I also have to emphesize that I have 2 best friends because no one can take away the title of guy best friend from my good ol' buddy Fadzrul who is studying in Australia now.

I just had dinner with my parents actually and I suddenly had this revelation that I would like to blog about because I find it very interesting. My mum asked me, "Why do you want to pak toh so young?" And you know what I told her? I said, "I have a reason to that... a good one actually."

Its simple. Because I'd like to have a girl who is same age as me or older =) Its actually just a preferance in partnership. Some guys like young girls, some guys like tall girls...... some guys like rich girls, some guys like sophisticated girls. I just happen to like girls who are same age as me (best preferance) or if not, older. I never found interest in younger girls. Really. And thus I told my parents, if I am to look for a soul mate that is of that age preferance, I obviously have to start young because girls usually 'pak toh' when they're young. See the difference with guys is that they can still be a bachelor till late 20s and still get married later its okay but girls usually want to wed young because it seems that after a certain age, they dont seem 'wanted' anymore because generally men like younger women.

Obviously there were many other criteria that I explained to my mum about my 'wife to be', why I like her and why we're compatible. Then my mum said "What about your 2nd brother?" See my 2nd brother is 28years old but without any girlfriend. Then she continued, "hmmm.. courtship 2 years then married still can hor?" Now this is really interesting. Humans have progressed so much and we're very technologically advanced and civilized and modern and all. But still, boys still have to go out there and court girls to bring home and get married then have children. Its the cycle of life. We are after all.... mammals~!

So here I am. At the age where I am about to leave my family to look for work soon. To seek out for my own life. My dad even told me recently, "I'm just going to pay for your living till you're graduate, soon you're going to have to lead a life on your own independantly as well as financially". I just nodded knowing that I'm growing up. I guess thats one of the reasons why he is okay with me dating michelle. He knows that soon, when I move out and live on my own, I do need companionship. And yes, odd as it may sound, i AM trying to court my darling michelle. Its not gonna be easy but I have to try my best during this courtship for my lifetime companionship. Yes, as I have said before the reason why I'm in a relationship is because I am working towards marriage =) I don't look into short term relationships, everything for me is long term and everlasting.. *hopefully*..

And thus, there you have it.... I finally figured out everything why my dad didnt mind me dating young and why I myself want to 'pak toh' at this age. It really is because subcconsciously I myself am looking for a companion to live life and enjoy everything the world has to offer together! I mean, everyone do have their preferance of the type of girls/guys they want. I just happen to have already found mine =)
