old school

sometimes there are those of us who grow up not knowing what has been happening around. Not knowing what has come or what has gone... and for those of us who use computers.. especially those of you who are from alpha FCM and hate CG so much.., well... this is a treat for you

So what kind of computer do you use? Pentium 4? AMD Athlon 64? *pfft*.... those days there was only 286,386,486 PCs.. of course, you wouldnt know what is that. This CPU tat u see now came out even b4 Pentium existed.... and what's this on the right side? hmmm... kay so what do ya have nowadays? Nvidia fx 6600? ATI Radeon 9800? *pfft*.... this thing here on the right, my friend, is one of the world's first graphics cards. And all people ever thought of doing with such graphics card is just to watch VCDs on their computer... 3D games didnt exist back then..



Okay... moving on, the thing on ur left is obviously a hard disk.. unfortunately back then, a hard disk only had about what? 1.0gb of space? which was considered A LOT back then...but what do ya have nowadays?standard 80gb....bah! these days children are so lucky.... and the thing on ur right, is one of the world's first sound card. Look at the packaging.. back then multimedia wasnt a big deal so packaging just wasnt very good at that time. This sound card I believe can play MiDi... u know like ur polyphonic ring tones? It couldnt even play music yet... cant play mp3... wait... back then there was NO mp3! not invented yet!


Okay... and for my final products. Guy... remember what we had just learned? About Zip and Jaz disk and drives from Iomega? well.. yes I happen to still have a piece lying around in my house. For those of you who dont know what a ZIp disk is, it's basically a 100mb floppy diskett... but why is it not popular nowadays? go read ur multimedia pavillion by KEn NeO *pfft*.... the thing on the right is one of the world's first joysticks... nowadays joysticks arent very popular, for some reason, nobody plays flight simlulator games anymore... I remember I used the joystick a lot when I was playing MechWarrior... look at the box, it says "for IBM PC, 286,386 & 486"... nowadays it will say things like for Pentium 4, 2.4ghz and above.. can u imagine the difference...?

and btw... all this collectables that you see.. Are still around in my house.... collecting dust. Sigh... therefore, you have to appreciate ur computer that you're using right now to read this blog!! hmph! and you people complain abt ur computer lagging la... slow la... ish.!
